Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the SC Companion website and the Discord applications known as SC Companion and Peep (collectively, the Services) handle information. SC Companion is the public-install Discord bot. Peep supports the project's home community, website sign-in, inventory identity, feedback, support tickets, and administrative features.
Information processed
The Services may process Discord account identifiers, usernames and display names, server IDs, channel IDs, role and permission information, message IDs, command input, interaction metadata, and information needed to respond to commands or operate configured features.
When you sign in to the website with Discord, the Services receive information authorized through Discord's sign-in flow. The website may also process content you choose to submit, including saved inventories, hangar entries, server settings, feedback, support requests, and trade-related content.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate users, provide requested website and Discord features, associate saved information with the correct account or server, enforce permissions, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, improve reliability, and maintain security.
Website analytics
The website uses a first-party random browser identifier to count daily page views and approximate unique browsers. It may sample the browser's primary language at most once per week to help prioritize interface translations. Only the primary language code, such as de or fr, is collected—not a precise location. The server stores a one-way hash of the random identifier, does not store IP addresses for analytics, and reports only aggregate visitor and language counts to authorized administrators.
RSI Hangar Importer
The optional browser extension has additional data-handling details in the RSI Hangar Importer Privacy Policy.
Sharing and third parties
Personal information is not sold. Information may be processed by Discord as part of normal bot operation, by hosting and infrastructure providers as needed to operate and secure the Services, and by configured third-party websites or APIs when you request a lookup or feature that depends on them. Those services may apply their own privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
Saved account, inventory, hangar, server-configuration, feedback, support, and operational records may be retained for as long as needed to provide the applicable feature, maintain security, or troubleshoot the Services. Cached lookup results and logs may be retained for a limited period. Users may remove supported saved entries through available controls or request deletion assistance through the contact method below. Server administrators may remove a bot from their server at any time.
Information not intentionally collected
The Services are not intended to collect Discord passwords, RSI passwords, payment-card information, or other sensitive authentication or financial information. Do not submit such information through commands, feedback, support tickets, or other content fields.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under the minimum age required to use Discord or other applicable services.
Security
Reasonable measures are used to protect credentials and operational data. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The date above will identify the latest version. Material changes to data practices will be disclosed as appropriate.
Contact
For privacy questions or deletion assistance, contact the project owner through the Discord server where the Services are used or open a request at SC Companion Support.
